With an enviable client list including Microsoft, John Lewis, British Airways, Jaguar and Unilever, Connected Pictures required a major upgrade to their website in order to convey both the quality and range of their experience. Connected Pictures tell stories better than anyone else through video, and we were tasked with creating a site that could translate this.
Due to the nature of their work, there were a number of key features required from the site, we identified these critical success factors and designed toward them at every juncture. From fast loading times due to the amount of video content, dynamic transitions and a strong focus on UX.
Flipping the usual site structure on its head, we championed the case studies on the homepage through a full width showreel of work heading up the site, with a continuous scroll through to the other content. Throughout, we kept site goals, audience needs, key messages, and the brand personality central to each decision. It was also important to ensure the site always felt new and there was something to come back for.
Similarly, as a B2B site they wanted to utilize their social channels to add personality and warmth. To cater to this, ensured that the Instagram feed is linked to the home page of the website, pulling through the content in real-time, as it is updated. We worked with Connected Pictures to curate the content on the site both through copywriting and image sourcing and integration.
"From the outset we found that Noir's approach to the development of our new website was a carried out to a particularly high standard, responding quickly queries at all times. They were able to take our vision and create an incredibly intuitive, content-heavy website. As a video production company, it is imperative that we are able to tell the stories of our clients and the work we carry out for them, Noir have enabled us to do this, without substituting loading time, features and transitions or aesthetics."Phil Sheikh - Brand & Business Development Lead, Connected Pictures
Mobile was another extremely important element so we created a fully responsive site, with a mobile experience to match desktop. Rather than developing multiple variations of the site to work on specific formats and screen sizes, we built one intuitive site that functions across all devices. An important consideration for us was that each of these devices require the user to ‘touch’.
Touchable design demands a new way of thinking and designing, and a radical shift in customer experience and understanding. With this more flexible approach we future-proofed the site so that it can adapt to new formats as well as fit the range of devices currently out there. By also building a content management system that adapts and responds to varying screen sizes and establishing a clear hierarchy of information we created a website that was not simply responsive but an intuitive user experience.
